Conservation Fellowships (Lindsay and Gavron)
The National Gallery is looking for two Conservation Fellows – the Robert Gavron Conservation Fellow, and the Patrick Lindsay Conservation Fellow. This is an extraordinary opportunity to gain conservation experience with a national collection of paintings.
The primary focus of the role will be practical studio work; the Fellows will undertake closely supervised work in the cleaning and restoration and the structural repair of paintings. In addition, the jobholders will play a role in the documentation and examination of loans to and from the Gallery. There will also be the opportunity to become involved in the preventive conservation function of the department, as well as research on assigned conservation projects, working in collaboration with the Scientific and Curatorial Departments; and assisting colleagues on treatments of painting where necessary.
The fellowships are each full time, fixed-term contracts for up to 22 months.
